3-Part Goals for 2011

[wpfblike]

"What’s the main goal I should concentrate on in the New Year, Brian?"

A question I get routinely asked between the beginning of October and the end of December every single year.

The turning of the calendar to a blank slate and brand new 12-months is a source of enthusiasm for most people.

New goals.

New directions.

Same old dreams… But THIS year, I’ll make them happen.

Do you play that annual game yourself?

The undeniable (and unfortunate) reality is that most people do in fact create new agendas for themselves as the New Year approaches.

I say ‘unfortunate’ simply because statistics show us clearly and definably that end-of-year goals and ambitions almost always fall flat by February (somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% of New Year’s goals are vacated and forgotten by February 28th… Every year).

So when asked about what goals I think you should concentrate on as 2011 approaches, my answer is a very simple one (with a 3-part plan):

IYCA Offers you More

[wpfblike]

Industry-wide, we complain that certification organizations are out-dated, take all our money and don’t give us anything back of value in return.

Plus, we struggle to earn a living and have one of the highest attrition rates of any profession anywhere in the world.

You are confusing the heck out of me!

Certification companies ask for your cash, but don’t give you anything of merit for it, and at the same time, you’re unsure how much longer you can keep working in your passion because the long days and horrible hours aren’t making you enough to live and don’t give you ANY long-term security…

Then I come in offering a free DVD set that is LOADED with cutting edge training and business information, that you can have for no charge, as long as you become a Member of the IYCA for 12-months.

And IYCA Membership is EXACTLY what you AREN’T getting with other fitness certifications and the very REASON you are unsure of your future in this industry:

:: Step-by-Step Business Guides and Marketing Plans
:: Media Releases that Guarantee Results and More Visibility
:: Success-Proven Strategies that Earn You More Money
:: Training Videos & Audios Every Month
:: Monthly Expert Interviews

Memories With Young Athletes

[wpfblike]

This is the first Christmas that I won’t be able to be with my family.

34 Holidays, every one of them spent with my Mom, Dad and two brothers.

I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t sad.

Since moving to the United States in 2000, I’ve only managed to see my
family on average twice per year.

This year, I haven’t seen them at all.

It’s very easy to get tunnel vision with work.

We want so badly to succeed, that we can easily fall into the game of
‘work first, everything else second’.

That’s happened to me a little bit these past 12 months and I’m 100%
determined to make sure it never happens again.

My Dad turns 80 this coming January and is in wonderful health.

My Irish Mom is feisty as ever.

My two older brothers are both happy and full of the same vigor that made
them my idols growing up.

I miss them all very much.

I’ll be heading up to Toronto in early January to see everyone and spend some
moments that I will cherish for a long time.

My Dad will wake up at the crack of dawn and enjoy his breakfast cereal while
standing at the window to the back deck looking out at the birds (his favorite
past time).

And I’ll be there to meet him every morning.

My Mom will sit on the couch every day at lunch and read the day’s newspaper.

And I’ll be sitting beside her every afternoon.

Sometimes life isn’t about the big moments.

It’s about the small ones that you can savor.

Some of your young athletes will go onto to amazing college or even professional
careers.

But most will use your training as a conduit to become better, more self-assured
people.

Every moment you spend with your young athletes should be worthy of savoring.

Moments in time that they can look back upon and smile.

The little things in life are the most beautiful and precious.

Be sure to create and savor as many as you can this Holiday Season.

On behalf of the IYCA, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a safe and
wonderful Holiday.

Embrace the small and insignificant things….

…. They’re all that really matter.

Children’s Fitness Summit: Your Concerns Answered…

[wpfblike]

Children’s fitness Success From The IYCA

So the IYCA International Summit is in February.

People from all over the world have already registered.

But there are still some spots open.

I decided to look through our Customer Service email database
today in order to find out what our Members are asking about
with respect to the Summit.

Here are the Top 2 questions our Customer Service department
is being asked:

1) We’re living in a slow economy and this is the Holidays. How
can I justify spending the money on registration… Not to mention
airfare and hotel costs?

Fair concern, but brutally easy answer…

In business, timing is absolutely everything.

Look at it this way.

The majority of business owners out there are cutting expenses
left and right.

They’re conserving money and holding back on spending
altogether.

Not a horrible strategy in such an unstable economy.

But what’s going to happen when the economy gets better?

See, now that’s the question professionals in all walks of life
seldom ask themselves.

And that shortsighted approach is what keeps most businesses
barely scraping by for years.

Conservation of funds in times like these is essential.

Limiting spending is a necessity.

BUT, successful children’s fitness business owners have the rare gift of being
able to see 3, 4, 6 and 12 months down the line.

And here’s what’s going to happen…

As soon as the economy turns upwards (which incidentally,
most experts say will take place around March or April of 2009)
consumers are going to start getting very excited and ‘loose’
with their disposable income.

It’s human nature.

We love to spend money.

So as soon as the economy improves, YOUR consumer base
is going to want to start spending at a feverish pace.

Now, Business Owner A, who conserved all his money during
the ‘down time’, is literally going to be caught with his pants down
because as consumers start wanting to spend cash, he won’t have
the infrastructure or programs in place to take advantage of it.

Conversely, Business Owner B, who was frugal but invested
WISELY on things during the ‘down time’, will have a complete
plan of action in place and ready for when their market wants to
start handing out cash again.

Being cautious financially is one thing, but having your eyes and
ears closed to what the future is going to bring is something
altogether different and silly.

Successful business owners know that this is the PERFECT
time to invest in their business because the payout is just around
the corner…

2) I’ve been to many fitness conferences in the past, how is this
one going to be any different or give me anything more than I
already know?

When Pat Rigsby says that he is going to show you EXACTLY
how to make an additional $30,000 in your current children’s fitness training
business next year, I listen.

The man literally has a Midas touch with stuff like this.

When I tell you that I’m going to show you EXACTLY how
to create profitable speed camps and clinics that will earn you
thousands of dollars and dozens upon dozens of clients, you
better listen!!

That’s how I’ve built every single training facility I’ve ever
owned or worked at.

I know the process and will be teaching it to you –
"done for you" style.

And that’s just a sample.

But heck, isn’t that enough?

How many conferences have you been that can promise
you an additional $30,000 profit line to your business?

I hope I’ve been clear, my friend.

And if you haven’t already…
