Anthony Renna on Running Your Own Race

Anthony RennaAnthony Renna often thinks of himself as “the man behind the man.”  In fact, you might not even recognize his name because he tries to stay behind the scenes.  But, Anthony has quietly made several huge contributions to the strength & conditioning profession, and he is considered a sort of pioneer in the industry.

Before podcasts were cool, Anthony became one of the first guys to put out a podcast focused on strength & conditioning.  The Strength Coach Podcast featured Mike Boyle and a host of other great professionals, and Anthony helped usher in an era of podcasts in our industry.  The profession is now inundated with podcasts, and we sort of have Anthony to thank for that.

Since then, Anthony has created several other podcasts as well as Strength Coach TV where he goes all over the country to bring us video tours of strength & conditioning facilities.  His Stop & Give Me 20 and Tell Me About That Book podcasts are great ways to learn quickly about different fitness professionals and books relevant to our industry.  Once you see and hear his style, you’ll realize why Anthony Renna is so well-liked and well-respected.  He has gotten so busy with his media enterprise that he barely trains any more, yet he is making a huge impact on the profession.

Once you get to know Anthony, it’s easy to see how he’s making a difference in the profession.  In this episode of The Impact Show, Jim talks to Anthony about his path and they go into depth on the impact he’s making.  Anthony’s big message is to always “run your own race,” and he has excellent advice for anyone interested in doing things the right way.
