A Training Program For Young Athletes From Brian Grasso.

Here’s a program I did last week with a group of 15 year-old hockey players:

 

Mobility & Tissue Quality

Foam Roll (Hamstring/Glutes, Quads/Adductors, Thoracic Spine)
Hip Circuit (2 sets, 10 reps/movement)
Leg Raises (2 sets, 5 reps/direction)
Walking with Rotation (2 sets, floor length)

 

Movement Preparation

Low Skips (3 sets)
Backwards High Skips (3 sets)
Side Skips (2 sets/direction)
Tempo Runs (4 sets)

 

Strength/Power Circuit

(1A) BB Snatch
(1B) Horizontal Pull
(2A) Back Squat
(2B) Push-Up
(3A) Reverse Lunge/Step-Up
(3B) DB Push-Press

 

ROM

Foam Roll (Hamstring/Glutes, Quads/Adductors, Thoracic Spine)
Standing Bows
Shoulder PNF Pattern
