Getting to be a bit too much of the Brian Grasso marketing show and not enough about what we are actually here to accomplish….geting a bit burnt out on the marketing ploys.

I cringe when any one brings up earth day. Your product helps children. Earth day was the political tool of a lunatic murderer named Ira Einhorn to push his anti capitalism agenda. He was a committed communist and master manipulator. Google it! The green agenda has every thing to do with political ideology and little to do with ecology.

i bought and completed your speed & agility spec 1 mainly because of Lee Taft. Since completing the test! ( which is very easy ). Since then not heard or been given any support. Lots of mktg but no substance to “revolutionise” developing athletes. What is this revolution? it is not such a big deal !!
you are not telling us what we don’t already know. Get off your arse and produce a proper support programme involving yourself and spread the correct message throughout the world , or aren’t you up to the “mission statement” ??

@Scotty-This is a shame that you feel this way. I’m wondering if you’ve actually purchased any of the IYCA certs or products. If you have, are you not impressed with the thoroughness of the material?
As for Brian, is he not permitted to show enthusiasm for accomplishments and use that to spread the message about what the IYCA has to offer? Is it wrong to offer something for sale that is solid and good and market it around various themes?
The more I understand about the IYCA, the more I feel as though this is an “enlightened” business that has a serious mission to help kids reduce injury and truly enjoy fitness. Doesn’t that just make sense in a culture of 30% overweight children (at least in the States)?
Don’t lose hope. Good things will come of this.

@Scotty – I see where you are coming from, however Brian is the Founder and CEO of the IYCA, so he has an obligation to market it constantly and continuously. One correction though, it isn’t the Brian Grasso marketing show, it is the IYCA marketing show. I see no fault with him yelling from mountain tops if it helps the growing obesity epidemic in today’s youth.
@ Mike – ??? This blog isn’t about politics or the environment its about helping today’s youth. If the IYCA wants to mention earth day or the fact that they have gone digital to bring down the costs to us or even save some resources does it require your own politically motivated response.
@Howard – I too bought the Youth Speed Training mainly because of Lee Taft, he is AWESOME. I did have some issues with the other parts of what was included. I emailed the IYCA and Brian personally emailed me back thanking me for the criticism. I had to step back and take more of a macro view of the IYCA to really understand what they are trying to accomplish and how they are trying to accomplish it. Cliffs Notes version (this is my opinion only) The IYCA IS revolutionizing youth fitness by creating a standard of care, education, and philosophy that breaks away from the traditional “apply adult principles to kids” standard. They give us the tools and ideas for “US” to revolutionize youth fitness. I don’t know what other support you are looking for. Maybe you should become an IYCA member and post on the forums if you are looking for more specific help. I’ve seen Dr. Kwame Brown and Dr. Toby Brooks reply to several posts/questions. I think the issue you have is rooted from what you think you should be getting. I do not know of any certifying body that contacts you specifically to see if you need anything. They offer webinars, other certifications, and/or memberships that offer that support. All which the IYCA offers. I do see where you are coming from though, as I have had those same thoughts on occasion, but you have to remember that the IYCA is just part of the “change”, we are the other part and “we” are the ones that need to get off our arse’s and take what we have been given to revolutionize youth fitness. We decide whether we want someone to give us a fish or we want to learn to fish for ourselves. The IYCA has given us the gear told us where to look and how to bring them in, the rest is up to us.

Brain,
Congratulations on your US citizenship! You have attained what I feel that some natural-born citizens take for granted. Your hard work and dedication that is expressed through the IYCA is already an amazing example to others what the “American Dream” is all about.
I’m a proud “citizen” of the IYCA! HAHA.
Anyways, I got the CAD program a few years back. When moving I had to place many of my continuing education products (e.g. books and DVDs) in storage. One of the few products that I took with me was my CAD program, in fact it wasn’t even a thought. It serves an amazing reference. Although I don’t use particular exercises such as the scorpion, I believe that CAD is an amazing system of training that is fundamental to every developing athlete (and non-athlete).
Thanks!

Most people think they now how to train young athletes. Weights alone does not make a great athlete. Movement, speed, quickness and strength are the key for field sports. I have played football for more than 17 years, and have been in this business for 28 years. I have trained football players for over 15 years with major results. All of my players went on to play college football and 3 made were lucky enough to have played professionally. I am a NFL Alumni and CFL Alumni and a Certified IFPA trainer as well as other credentials. People need to understand you cannot teach Talent you can only train it. Field work is the most important component of athletic training. If you are interested in learning more about my company 3D Sports Training- Desire, Discipline, Dedication = SUCCESS. We can help.
