Brian and Co.,
I am very impressed by the IYCA info and your passion! I love working w/kids of all kinds and want to do the best job I can, I think, no I am sure IYCA can help me achieve this goal! I also have kids of my own and would love to see more of them and also not be limited financially.
Help get out of the rut!
Sincerely,
Paul Alexander, MS, CSCS, CNT
Making a difference in the lives of local kids is not something I intend to do solo. A dedicated team of coaches with a common mission is far more powerful than I am alone, and that is what I desire Sport Speed Austin to become.
I am coming to the summit to learn how to improve the current system we base our coaching upon. If I could bring one of my assistant coaches along to drink the Kool-Aid in person, I believe his development as a teacher of young people would be greatly enhanced and accelerated.
So…I want a free admission not for myself, since I have registered and paid already, but for my assistant coach Kevin Budet.
Danny is an overweight boy with a slight learning disorder. He joined my Youth Boxing/Sports Conditioning class with eleven other 9-11 year old boys bubbling with energy. On his first day, he was clearly timid, shy and not sure why he was there. Every time I said his name, he smiled and gave me a high five. He was amazed that 1) I knew his name and 2) that I recognized him and said he was doing a great job. We end every class with the reaction ball – we stand around in a circle, talk about the importance of working together and being part of a team and what it means to work together and support one another and see how many times we can catch the ball. Last week, Danny became the focal point as the reaction ball flung around the room – he was focused, engaged, engaging and the biggest cheerleader of the group. He was fired up. 14 catches was the number to beat – they got up to 19 because they worked as a team. Everyone knew their role and they also understood if they worked together they could reach their goal. I can’t begin to tell you how fired up they all were (especially me!) They high fived each other and danced. It was AWESOME!
I want to attend the IYCA Summit so I can inspire kids like Danny and show our youth how much fun we can have being active. I want to learn as much as I can to help our youth build a foundation and love for movement. I want to teach them lifelong skills without them even knowing it. Whether young or old, everyone wants to be part of a team and feel like an athlete. I know the IYCA is an organization that fosters individuals who are passionate and want to make the world a better place….one step at a time.
I will attend the IYCA Summit one way or another but would love to be considered for your free ticket.
PS: Sorry this is a bit long but I’m so excited!!
The future health of our country rests on building a healthy young population. My passion lies in teaching kids that eating healthy and physical activity are about more then just looking good. As a fitness professional for over 12 years, I teach children and adults that implementing a healthy lifestyle is the best gift we can give! The IYCA philosophy matches what I present on a daily basis and I’d love the opportunity to attend the conference where these great minds share how we can all work to build a healthy country.
I have just begun to coach and to train, I would love some sort of insight on what I can do to train youth better. I am excited to beable to hear great speakers fill me in on what works, and what does not. I am a swim coach, and also a triathlete myself, I’m sure this would be able to help the students, and I would get a little for myself also.
I have been in the fitness indutry for the last six years. Ive also competed in athletics from the age 10- present. I grew up playing basketball and running track, then my love shifted and I started playing football at the age of seventeen, given opportunities to play at every level. As my career started coming to an end due to injury, I started to realize why I was always getting injuried, it wasnt until I started in the fitness industry. I also realized how improperly I was being trained. As I payed more attention to how young athletes were prepareing for their respective sports, it was like I was living my life all over again and I would cringe at the technique that some of these coaches were teaching there athletes. However, Ill never claim that I know everything but I know what does prevent muscles imbalances and how to get the most out of my athletes, but i want to get better at knowing what I know. So thats why I would love to be at this conference. I would love to learn from some of the best in the industry.
I am a personal trainer and do have my Youth Fitness Specialist Level 1. I am in the process of opening a gym in Huron, South Dakota and my target group will be the student athlete’s in and around the Huron area. The biggest problem we have here is that no one is stepping to help these kids develop into better athletes, not even the school systems. I have talked with several parents and they say they are really looking forward to someone taking an interest in helping the kids in town. We also struggle with the obesity isssue like everyone else in this country right now, and I am going to make it my personal mission to help as many of these kids as I can.
Right now I am employed as a youth supervisor at a juvenile rehabilitation facility and have been active in developing health and fitness programs for the boys I work with, and the information that I have picked up from the IYCA has been very helpful in doing that.
I wouldn’t be the only one to benefit from this great offer. I coach club soccer; in California. I coach in the best league in the United States. When college teams look for top players they are at the Coast League tournaments. The cost to play in this league is not cheap and the club I coach for has made it affordable to kids that wouldn’t normally be able to play in this league. I put in many hours to help the 2 teams I coach to be able to perform at a higher level and to be able to compete against other kids who have the personal, professional training. I care that these kids are prepared and ready to compete against other kids that are much more fortunate. This is why I would appreciate the two tickets and I know that the kids I coach and the rest of the 197 players from our club will benefit from this.
I have been involved in sports since I could pretty much walk. For me, sports always gave me an outlet or a place to be part of a team. Sports are supposed to be fun. However, parents do not often understand that. I remember many incidents as a Little League baseball player where parents crossed that line of pushing their kids too far. As a result, many kids don’t get to experience what the true value of athletics is. At a time when many schools and communities are doing away with physical education, I could not see a better opportunity to create an environment where kids get to be kids while becoming healthier and more disciplined.
I have coached high school football and even played collegiate baseball, so I would like to put my many years of athletic experience to good use. Coming across the IYCA was almost karmic. I work with several young boys at this time, but I have been looking for a way to come up with something a little more structured. I believe that the IYCA can help me fulfill my dream.
I believe “super pumped” James Clark of Australia is more than worthy of the “Summit Scholarship.”
Anyone who actively engages in fund-raising to attend a conference thousands of miles from home is a true professional and what the IYCA is all about. It would be nice to see him get a break on the cost of the summit given the large investment it will take just for him to physically get there.
I am starting a youth program at my fitness facility. My core mission is to promote life skills like work ethic, responsibility, self-confidence and awareness, injury prevention, teamwork, leadership, and self-discipline. I think IYCA will help me accomplish my goal. I looked at your website and listened to one of your presentations. I love what IYCA is all bout and I am determined to become part of the family and make a difference in the youth population in my area and hopefully around the world.
Brian
I have spoke with you numerous times about training and such. I have such a passion and I am lucky to be able to spread that passion to athletes everyday. I have becasuse of the economic turn cut my prices so athletes can come and get great workouts. Living in chicago I just passed my 1 year anniversary in business. An accomplishment to say the least. But I want more, more for my athletes and I think attending this conferance will give me and my staff that. We are very dedicated to our athletes and how the grow and become not only better in their sport but better in life. This conferance can change my business, my beliefs and change my athletes most importantly.
hi im frantz valbona olympic retired athlete , im also a fitness specialist and nutrition coach , im very interested to go and see and meet you in person we have lot in common and i do the same thing here in southern california but with different name fitnesssimple helping kids or young athlete to learn the right way and also adult too ect . so please i fi can win these ticket to come to see that will be nice here my address 59 via pamplona city off rancho santa margarita , california 92688 . you email me all the time and we been share lot off ideas online so . bye for now
I am fired up because I will begin to teach a youth fitness class in January at the non-profit fitness facility I work at. I have been using my education from the Youth Fitness Specialist Level 1 certification when I volunteer to coach my daughter’s school’s volleyball and basketball teams. It is more than just teaching another class, it is touching the lives of these kids in a way that they will achieve their goals in life because they learned that they could achieve in a fitness class or a school sport. I get the BIG picture of the IYCA and I face the struggle that all parents do to bring their kids up with an active lifestyle. Our competition is technology and hours of school work that requires them to sit around instead of playing actively like I remember doing. It is a great task and I believe that Brian and all of the fitness professionals that are part of the IYCA can bring something better to families. I would love to attend the Summit and free would be awesome! I would love to meet you all in person!
My children are all very dependent upon me (ages six, four and three). Because of my dual role as stay-at-home single mom and entrepreneur, I have less time to dedicate to my business than many of my colleagues. Earning a free ticket to the 2010 Summit will serve to support my children and me as I continue my role as a family fitness specialist.
Brian, I have been following IYCA for 1-2yrs. I’m so passionate about all your programs, staff, and speakers that are involved.I tried to attend last year but the funds were not available so Ive continued to follow and research what was available. I’ve coached for 25yrs in multiple sports at ages 5-18. I have 6 athletes of my own ages 15mos. to 16(3 daughters,3 sons) My training programs really taking off and the schools and teams/parents believe I have the goods.Unfortunately I want the great stuff and I don’t have it.That is what our student athletes need, the best! IYCA has it,I need it, and want it.This area needs it and I will put IYCA on the map here with the IYCA Summit experience with your help. I will even pay you back if I have to!!
I would love to attend your IYCA Summit for free. I live in South Texas and I trully enjoyed participating in all types of sports when I was in junior high and high school. I never had anyone take me under their wings. I currently coach 18U and 14U girls fastpitch softball and boys age 4 T-ball. I don’t consider myself to be the best coach or trainer but but I have had good results and everything I offer (hitting, fielding, running, etc.) is free. I don’t pick and chose my athletes, I help them all from beginners to experienced high school players. I wake up everyday looking forward to working with kids and helping them become better people and athletes and help them have an opportunity to set and reach goals. I lack the knowledge IYCA has to offer and if I had this knolwedge I could spread it to all the boys and girls I help.
Brian, I’m passionate about helping kids. Presently I’m a school board member, a unpaid girl basketball varsity assitant coach and I help with youth programs in the winter and summer at school. I recently purchased the IYCA certification program because I want to better educate myself to help kids. I don’t know if I will be able to attend the summit without some type of help. You now gave me an chance. THANKS
Hear it is Brian,
I am a football coach I have coached for over twenty years. I have coaching certifications, I have been going to coaching seminars for years. I truly love what I do as a volunteer in my town Montclair NJ. I have begun training young athletes for a variety of sports I have seen a need for the speed and agility training in these athlete. I love what IYCA is doing and what it stands for. I would love to come to the summit but honestly without your generosity I must say it would be impossible for me to do.
thanks Brian
Brian, I would love to be the recipient of a free ticket to your seminar, but as I live on the other side of the world it is financially out of my reach. I have been coaching athletics for approximatley 10 years with some success. Until the last few years Ive been doing just the basics with my athletes due to personal committments in raising my 2 children as a single parent, who also competed in many different sports through their childhood. Also to dealing with athletes who continue to play other sports while trying to compete in athletics at the same time. I work in one of the leading track & field schools in Queensland, Australia who have allowed me to implement some changes to coaching students with a lot of success. I have been using The compete Speed Training Programme which has proven to be one of my best investments as we achieved 19 medals at state level, of these 8 gold ,4 silver & 3 bronze were from students directly under my care. I have since purchased Complete Programme Design for sprinters & also Mike Boyles Functional Strenght coach 3.0 and am waiting for them to arrive. I feel that attending your seminar would greatly enhance & build on my knowledge base to help my athletes reach their goals.I see this as an opportunity of a lifetime.
I believe the future of our student-athletes, and kids in general is so important that for the last 5 years I’ve been a volunteer sports fitness coach for several sports teams in Ocean County, NJ. I’ve also volunteered at Player Development Programs and in my local youth services center to bring fitness and healthy lifestyles to as many kids as possible.
I also co-own a sports fitness training center which has rapidly become the epicenter of sports and family fitness in our little corner of the world.
My mission is simple: create a culture of victory with integrity, while building a community in which our kids are free to grow and succeed while helping others to do the same.
This is my life, not just my business.
Bring me to the Summit and I’ll share my commitment and passion with the rest of our community.
Phil
Hi Brian,
Well I would be silly if I did not at least attempt to take you up on this great offer of yours. So why should I be a recipient for the Summit Scholarship:
1) I live on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, and my current wage is pretty dismal as I am still enrolled in university (however I graduate in 3 weeks….yipee!!), and am in the process of fund raising just to get to the summit, if that doesn’t show that I am committed to the cause then what is?
2) I am as passionate about working with kids as anyone I have ever met, including yourself, so if an event such as the IYCA Summit comes along I do everything I can to get myself there as I know it would help improve my ability as a professional working with the youth clientele, thus, the kids I work with will have the best opportunity to excel.
3) I was lucky enough to attend the inaugural IYCA Summit last year, and boy did I walk away from that pumped, I would do whatever it took to experience that event again.
4) I had to choose whether or not to save up to buy a car or to purchase plane tickets to get to the Summit, much to my parents dislike I chose the plane tickets
Well there it is. I think I have done all I can to illustrate that I am worthy of the Summit Scholarship, I leave it know in your hands Brian.
James.
I am an elementary physical education teacher and a high school freshman football coach. I see on a daily basis the epidemic that is childhood inactivity/obesity. I have been trying for the past two years to start a fitness challenge camp for at risk children, but have come up short due to lack of money, advertising, and administrative red tape. I know that with the knowledge I receive from this summit I can gain the know how to make this camp a reality, and impact hundreds of children that badly need an inspirational fun physically active life change now before it is too late. The IYCA is the leader in youth fitness and their summit is the ticket to making this dream come true.
Hello my name is AL Wimberly,
I have been working with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department for over the 26years or more. During all of those years of working with public from youth children teens and adults I had notice a great decline of any type of health and fitness activity from all of those ages group in the recreation center and public schools. This had become a great concern to me, because I too have childrens and nieces that is that same age bracket. I told myself that there is some thing that had to be done so I started to lead by example to all the children, youth , teen and adult that at least came to my work facility and show them how important it is to make sure that you at get some type of physical exercise a day. I had also have the passion for working with children ever since I was 18 years old when I first started working on this job with them. So this would be a great honor to me to have the chance to go to this event because it would guide me in the right direction for starting my very own business with the tots call Lil Bizzy Bees Fitness.
Hi, I am Sulav Moktan from Nepal. As i have been working as a martial art instructor in Nepal. I have to deal with kids and adults in different schools and clubs. As i am from developing country like nepal we don’t have much opportunity to learn about youth fitness program. Thus i am so excited to know about the summit and want to participate such summit so that i can get more knowledge about youth fitness, coaches and fitness industry and business.
I want to attend the summit but for that i need the supporting document and invitation letter so that i can apply for visa at the US Embassy at Nepal.I want to grab the opportunity by attending the summit. Please send me more information and documents regarding the summit.
Thanking you,
Sulav Moktan
Brian,
Like those before me, we all have a passion for helping our kids become healthier and more fit. We are all deserving in our own way of your generosity. I had a full club for almost 10 years and closed it in May 2008. (Not my choice.) I floundered over the summer wondering what was next for me. Should I get out of fitness completely or redirect my passion for fitness? That is when I stumbled upon the IYCA. My passion was re-ignited when I found out what you stood for, what direction you were taking the IYCA and why you do what you do and for whom. I too, attended the first Summit last February and like others were blown away with the passion, compassion and information that was given and shown. I opened a PT studio in May of this year with my goal of being “the provider” of youth fitness in my community of 14,000 in central Iowa. My purpose is affirmed. I am doing my homework and with your help and a return trip to the Summit next February, I will past the test and be the best youth fitness provider in my community and surrounding area. I get it, Brian. I understand the enormous power and influence we hold in our hands. I want to achieve the success I deserve. Thanks for what you do for us so we can continue to do for them (the kids).
I am currently travelling american interning and visiting as many coaches and therapist as possible to try and better myself to become he best stength and conditioning coach, and PT that I can be! I want to make a differene! I want to help eveyone for the overweight un-coordinated low confidence kid to the elite athlete, to the ederly. I am only a young strength coach from Ireland who has saved up a small mount of money and has begged and bowered so I could travel to meet all these top coaches and therapists. I am doing this to become the best, so I can make a difference. This is way I woud love to go the IYCA summit. I know that attending the summit will be another step in making me a greater coach, and helpin me to make a greater difference.
Want to attend the IYCA Summit for free? Oh Course……..but I already bought my ticket, so I guess I ‘m ruled out. Brief statement about me is that I have 4 kids, 3 jobs, 2 baby mothers, 1 brother and 0 tolerance. I teach basketball skills and conditioning for youth in my area and the one thing I teach all my athletes…….”scoring is easy, stopping someone else from scoring not that easy”
Brian,
I am in my 9th great year of working with kids in our school’s fitness facility. The 6th-12th graders that I get to work with and my driving passion to keep learning new ways to train them have brought me to you. I am a fanatic about reading your information and it has helped me realize there are better ways to train kids than what worked for me 15 years ago. In a school district where coaches of the last 30 years still use the same training methods, we are in drastic need of an upgrade. I would love to come out to your summit and learn how I can become a better coach and not settle for what I currently know. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
Hey Brian. Ive been a member of the IYCA for almost 2years now. Ive done your certifications and learned a lot! I want to be the number one youth coach in South Africa and change the face of Youth Sports in our country forever! Due to financial difficulties I was not able to attend this year. I dont want that to be the case again next year. I have a lot of passion for what Im doing, im sure u have seen that in the forums! Changing the lifes of millions of kids is what im meant to do, all I need is a little bit of assistance. Getting a free ticket will be that little bit of assistance! Have a great day and good luck to everyone that entered the competition, I know u all deserve a ticket!
I would like Free admission to the IYCA Conference because I have been spending lots of money gettting certifications, then I having to pay for the conference adds up. I am new to the fitness world trying to get clients and marketing, doing this has become costly. My target area is the innner city youth of Indianapolis. This is an area that no one is seriously trying to reach. I want to provide something for those in the urban areas that don’t have the resources as those in suburban areas. It is hard to target these youth, buy equipment, get certifications then pay for the conference.
I would love to attend because I love what the IYCA is doing. Traveling that distance is no problem, but that is a cost to consider too. I hope you would consider me for this conference I wanted to attend last year, but still trying to get finances together. Now, trying to grow my fitness business has created another obstacle.
Thanks for the opportunity to submit my request. I hope I am seriously considered.

Brian,
Many a man fails b/c he never tries, so here goes. I have high expectations for myself and my athletes. I began my career as a high school strength and conditioning coach last year. I had a great group of kids who were trying to gain respect the entire baseball season. They were ranked 9th in the state, but were only considered to be the 3rd or 4th best team in town. I feel like I did everything I could do to enable them to be successful. Quite frankly, I felt blessed just to have the oppurtunity. Their hard work on and off the field was rewarded w/ a State Championship. What I have discovered is that “when you do all you can to enable others to have great moments, you’ll be blessed w/ some matchless moments yourself.” Brian, I’m blessed to be able to wake up and do what I do every day. I feel blessed to be associated w/ the IYCA. You are an enabler, and whoever receives these tickets will be blessed to have an oppurtunity to attend one of the best conferences in the country. Regardless of whether or not that is me, Thank You! You and your organization are a blessing!
Brian,
Thank you for this opportunity to attend the premier health and fitness confernece in the country. I have coached football, basketball and soccer for almost 30 years and it is time to take it to the next level. I have been involved with training from Lee and it has helped advance my focus and the state of our youth. It is tiime to enchance my fitness IQ even further and open a new tool box. I firmly believe attendence to the IYCA Summit will help do this and your offer of a free admission will help jumpstart my dream of a free local fitness center for all local youth.
Thanks again,
Brad
Any of us who receives the free tix deserves them and are blessed.I`m Tony Gamblin,aType2 diabetic masters athlete-49yrs old,9 in the usa in the 55m dash in 2008.I have made it thru removal of a cancerous testicle,a 3 1/2 day diabetic coma, and congestive heart failure.I want to continue to inspire the people I serve by upgrading my skills.I sub teach, operate a track club/speed&conditioning/personal training business, and I coach high school football and track.I just want to get the best out of them, thanks
Hi Brian:
Thank you for your no-nonsense type of training for our youth. We are currently in a physical crisis in the U.S. with our youth, and we have to have better programs to train our youth. By far, you have provided the most realistic, though-provoking and challenging program and certifications. I am wanting to make a difference with the correct training for our youth and constantly have my high school athletes getting hurt by what they are currently doing in the P.E. program. My goal this year is to obtain as much information from you and your speakers so I can tackle this issue about improper training of our middle school and high school athletes. So I need your help.
I train all sports both boys and girls. I am astonished at the injury rates, the lack of education from our administrators and their unwillingness to change and the coaches who continually overtrain these kids.
Susan
Hello Brian.
i would love two free tickets to the summit in February. We are 6 months away from opening a new youth only fitness floor in our family recreation facility. Up to now youth have been allowed to work out inthe main area, but haven’t always been warmly received by all of our adult members. Now they will have their own space. I would love the opportunity for a couple of our staff to attend the conference to help inspire them to make the new fitness floor the best possible choice for youth in our area to come to learn how to be healthy for the rest of their lives. WE WANT TO ENABLE YOUTH TO BECOME HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER.
Attending this summit would be a great kick start for our program planning and help us get off on the right track!
Dwayne
I currently work in computers and I am proud to say it just about pays the bills, feeds my kids and puts my Mrs through University. But at 36, there’s been a voice nagging away in my head, saying “you can do more” for the last few years. I attribute ths voice to those good people, family and teachers, who I have had the good fortune to have been inspired/guided by through my life. That prevented me from going off the tracks when it felt like the natural thing to do. That enabled me to get my degree even though I doubted that I had it in me. That has prevented me from becoming an absent father as my father had been.
I am a volunteer assistant Strength & Conditioning coach in the UK who is trying to teach the value of growth and development through a fun, safe environment to those that believe that quantity can negate the need for quality. Its challenging but i believe its my calling. Mom, Mr Ambrose (Primary/Elementary School), Mrs McGowan (Maths), Mr Prince (P.E.), Mr Thompson (Mentor), Kate (my partner) et. al. have brought me to this realisation. I believe there are a few more people of this calibre to be encountered at the summit.
Brian,
This opportunity to receive a free invitation to the Summit would be awesome. I’m a personal trainer, and I was recently asked if there was any way that I could work with a group of student athletes. My client happens to be a former collegiate athlete and a Principal at a local High School.
His words exactly. “I’m just waiting on a call from my AD regarding an incident in the weight room”. This could only occur because the coaches can’t monitor all the athletes, or don’t know how. For me to go in with the knowledge obtained through the IYCA, it would be a huge impact.
We have 3 children. One of which requires special needs. This past weekend was his first practice with the Special Olympics Basketball Team. All 3 coaches are volunteers, who have special needs children of their own. By watching them, I couldn’t help but realize that these kids are athletes nonetheless. They could benefit from the IYCA concepts and beliefs as well.
As a fitness professional and a concerned parent, I would love to have the opportunity to offer some of the knowledge the IYCA Summit has to offer.
Both the youth at the local area High Schools, and the Special Olympics of Nashville, Tn. would receive a life long education from the most caring organization in the industry.
Hi Brian et. al -
I was turned on to your organization by a fellow Canadian collegue, David Kittner. For a couple of years now he’s been saying ‘You’ve just got to check out IYCA, Amy, you’ll just love what they are about and what they are doing.’ I could rhyme off a bazillion reasons why it took me so long – four kids in rep hockey, major family move, starting a new family business, etc… – but I finally did get around to seriously checking IYCA out.
I’ve finished off the Youth Fitness Specialist 1 and am about to do the exam and have ordered Complete Athlete Development and Speed and Agility 1. You see, I’m so hooked. For years I have searched for qualifications to legitimize my philosophy teaching kids physical activity. My background is in Physical Education and Teaching. Not being a stellar athlete myself, but always in the fray because moving and being active was so much fun, I believe that the greatest gift we can give young children is the joy of being active not just when they are young but for a lifetime.
As a parent with children in organized and competitive sport I am continually amazed at the unilateral focus to sport. In hockey it’s all about time on the ice. I have met only two coaches in the past ten years who have truly valued and committed to a dry land training program for their athletes. However, I have met countless numbers of parents with kids my kid’s age in physio, seeing a chiropractor, back problems, knee problems, shoulder problems, etc. The kids go on the ice wtih advil or whatever pain medication they need to be able to play without pain. I don’t even think as a kid I knew any kids or athletes in school with me who were ever treated aside from the doctor when something was broken. That being said each sport had a season and most of us played different sports all year long or did a variety of other activities. There are no seasons any more. A kid on a Rep or highly competitive team is expected to perform at that level all year long. Organized and competitive sport have squeezed out opportunities for ‘pick-up’ anything. The fall out is tired, injured and burnt out kids without a strong athletic foundation. The need for teaching, building, and nurturing this missing foundation is massive.
So with IYCA I feel like I’ve met a family of like minded, sane, intelligent individuals who care so deeply and passionately about kids and their ability to perform, play, sport, live and have fun while involved in whatever athletic pursuit they enjoy or might be curious about. That passion and empathy really comes through in your blogs, video clips etc. I would love to come to your conference. It would be my first…but I’m sure not my last. Canada really needs more of us, going into the schools, training teams, educating kids and parents. I consider it an honour to share this passion with those I meet, train and teach.
Amy
Brian,
Here is why I have a passion for teaching young kids, I was given a lot of oppurtunity as a kid to succeed from coaches and teachers. When I graduated High school I had two coaches that passed a torch onto me to reach out and help those same kids like me. So I became a teacher and a coach and set out to do just that but was armed with only enthusiasm and over the years I have looked and searched for the right information to teach. Now I have found it with the IYCA. Now I am armed and dangerous but still need to grow. The summit could be the catalyst that gives kids that I come in contact with as a teacher and coach the true success they deserve.
That is my passion!

I would like to attend the IYCA Summit for free because I can’t afford NOT to! I have my IYCA Level 1 Certification and just started my own fitness business out of my garage after losing my job in advertising. Losing my job was just the opportunity I needed to finally move forward with my passion to train others, have my own business and begin working with youth. It only took me two months to get everything done and have it up and running. Now I need to be networking with the people that can help me along so I can target the local youth market and beginning changing the lives of so many kids today that suffer from diseases like obesity, diabetes and so much more as a result of poor nutrition, lack of exercise, poor parenting and too many video and computer games. Money is tight after investing in my business, so free admission would definitely help cut costs to make this possible.
Hi Brian,
No doubt whoever you select will be worthy of your generous offer. As a professional coach, I discovered early on that successful coaches / programs shared two common threads: 1. they have purpose (the biggest picture of what they want to achieve); and 2. they have a vision (how to achieve that purpose). This is what I think the IYCA offers to those of us who respond to your offer–Purpose and Vision. Ultimately, it becomes a chance to share a belief and create believers.
Respectfully,
Doug Robinson
Hello, Brain
My name is Jennifer Lopez. I’m a recent graduate of the National Personal Training Institute. Since I just finished school money is tight right now, so winning these tickets would be a blessing to me. I think the IYCA is a great organization. I am very passionate about fitness in general, but when it comes to the children I have a big heart. I would like to teach our children the benefits to keeping our bodies healthy and hope that they will continue to keep there bodies healthy through adulthood is my goal.
Here in Tampa we have several AAU track clubs but get very little cooperation from our city and county governements for practice facilities. They charge the clubs (all non-profits, mind you) in excess of $300 per day for access to a simple asphault track to train our kids. This puts the clubs at a distinct, disadvantage in particular since we compete against clubs from Greater Miami area, Belle Glades, Fort Lauderdale and the teams throughout the Caribbean who don’t have this hurdle to traverse.
We have consistently prepared top high school athletes both athletically and academically as well as followed those eligible through to scholarships at top universities throught the country. These athletes don’t magically materialize at 15 years old. They are trained, nurtured and prepared by these AAU/USATF and other youth sports programs.
Attending the conference will provide insight in doing more with the limited resources we have and to provide a stronger network to improve communications with city and county entities to secure more suitable practice facilites and support for our student athletes. I believe IYCA will benefit not only the Running Tigers organization but all the other clubs in the greater Tampa Bay area. There is promising talent here and knowledgeable, dedicated coaches that can benenfit for what IYCA has to offer. Thank you for your consideration.
Dear IYCA,
I decided one year ago almost to the day to dedicate my life to coaching our youth. After much deliberation and searching the internet one organization kept sticking out. At first I thought it was just good marketing and it is, but really it is the IYCA’s mission and dedication that made it stand out to me. This was the organization that most mirrored what I wanted for the youngsters whos lives I will try an impact for years to come. Being new to this industry you can imagine the self doubt and questions I had and still have. I wanted to get this right. I MUST GET THIS RIGHT!!! And that is exactly why I chose the IYCA as my educator and mentor. The information and knowledge I have gained in such a short time is a testament to the IYCA way. Whats more? The staff and members are what make the IYCA. The people I have met have been impressively helpful to me. This is truly something I have come not to expect in this day and age. Man, was I wrong. When I need and answer or help with a certain coaching situation, BAM!!!!! Someone is there to help and I know I am getting information that has the kids well being at the forefront. That my friends is it in a nutshell. The IYCA puts kids first, and results will come. I take a lot of pride in telling people where I get my education. I always say “IYCA.org you should look them up”. Brian, I want those tickets because I simply cannot afford to miss this summit. And frankly, being new to this industry I could use the finacial support!
I came to two IYCA seminars in Chicago, and as I sat there listening to Brian, I couldn’t help but feel “…I want to know what he knows..” I don’t want to know how to teach what you know, I want to know what you know. I want to be able to speak to a parent and help them understand the value of letting their kid out of their backyard, and back into the parks for pickup kickball. WHY is tag not the violent game that so many overprotective parents have made it out to be. Mostly I want my daughter to not have to make “play dates.” I want her to be able to walk down the street and run into a good game of stickball. THAT is why I wanna be at this seminar. I want more than just the tools, I want to be the carpenter as well.
I was a talented high school athlete who would spend hours studying and learning about training even at the young age of 14. I knew things about training that most of my coaches didnt even know. Unfortunatly I got involved with the wrong people in life and got myself sidetracked from my true vision to move forward in my athletic career. I did the wrong things and it took me to the wrong places. I had no parents or role models to really guide me in life. My senior year I ended up tearing my ACL and pretty much ended my career. It was devastating to me. I did not know how to come back. I didnt have the proper tools or guidance to come back. A few years later I tore my other ACL playing recreation flag football. I vowed to myself that I would not let myself go this time. I knew I would never make it to anywhere important, but I owed it to myself. That was 5 years and 5 knee surgeries ago. And today i run and cut like I like before I was 17! Ill be at this summit regardless. I have a passion for athletics! I ordered the Speed and Agility Cert and I have learned more than I ever knew just watching the 4 DVD’s. Had things been different when i was a teenager I may be playing professional football now. If I had the proper coaching maybe I dont tear my knee and take a turn for the worse? Maybe I had a friend or a mentor? Someone to keep me focused and away from the the things I shouldn’t have been doing. Maybe I can be this person for these kids? I have the passion and and a story that can help these kids!
I am an elementary Physical Education teacher in West Virginia and I coach Middle School Girls Track & Field. I am fighting an uphill battle with my employer who cannot and does not value my position as a fitness professional. Because they have their hands full trying to keep the classroom progress up to standards. I understand this but refuse to accept it! I am insulted each time the legitimacy of my contribution to the WHOLE student is questioned and /or ignored.
My track teams have been, and with our momentum, will continue to be successful. I have been coaching youth sports for 31 years and have coached at all ages including: Youth soccer, softball, football and basketball; Middle School wrestling, boys and girls basketball, and track & field; and High School Girls soccer and Track & Field. I understand the importance of speed and agility in athletics as well as their role in mobility potential into adulthood. My teams are notorius for avoiding major injuries and I ALWAYS have a few “sleeper” kids that evolve into a suprising contributor (this is a good feeling) because of their adherance and dedication.
I have two children in College, Lauren a Soph Sprinter/Hurdler at Marietta, OH College and Erin a Freshman leadership scholar at Concord University in WV. My wife works full time and is also a full time student studying Nuclear medicine (x ray technology) and will be unemployed as of January 30. 2010 when her employer will retire and cease business operations.
I have asked my principal if I could attend IYCA Int’l summit as a continuing ed conference and even though she and 3 of my collegues just returned from 3 days of CE in Va. she dosent see the value in upgrading the professionalism of the PE program. I do not believe that they are so short sighted, but simply are not willing to spend the money on non-classroom personnel, something/someone that does not carry weight on standardized tests.
The only way I can get to the IYCA International conference is a gift. Sad, but true. I’m not embarrassed to ask, because I must beg for $ to replenish PE equipment…..there is no PE budget :O( West Virginia is consistently rated among the top (worst) in many health related categories (obesity, poverty, child nutrition, medical expenses, bad nights sleep…..oh, my)
I am committed and undeterred by these acknowledgements. Each time my next class of k-5th shows up at the door with electricity and excitement, I am resolved to not let them leave it in the gym (well, 1/2 of a cafeteria). As you would guess, I am the most popular teacher in school………All PE teachers better be.
Over the last several years, I have noticed a significant need for individuals in my area to TEACH kids the proper way to train and apply what they learn to their particular activity. There are plenty of examples of kids not getting what they need from trainers and instructors. I am interested in learning more about how & WHY to teach the kids in my area the proper way(s) to train for overall success. I believe that IYCA can provide me the opportunity to TEACH the right way, and being equipped with the right tools, I know I can deliver the results that are desired…the IYCA way! I would be ecstatic to attend the seminar!
Hi Brian,
your past bit of information is pushing our youth (especially, Solomon Islands Futsal National Team that participate and qualified for the EIEA Eutsal World Cup, Brazil 2008)
I want to attend and by participating it will help to spead the gospel of fitness through our very poor tiny nation, at youth level.
I have read all of the comments before mine. I am humbled by the passion that these trainers evoke. Every one of them deserves to attend the IYCA Summit.
I have been a coach and trainer fo over ten years. I have only recently begun to work with kids. It was the mothers I coached and trained over the years that got in my ear and asked for my help. Once I opened my eyes to the problem of childhood obesity, I was fixated. I couldn’t believe the magnitude of the problem. And to find help? It was as if there was a terrible accident and no one was responding to the 911 call.
I see that there are many solutions and options for adults, but the future of our nation and perhaps our world may in fact rest on our shoulders as coaches and trainers. The work that has been done is wonderful but is a mere scratch in the surface of the challenges that exist. If I am going to move forward in youth fitness, it will be with the IYCA.
I most definitely want to attend the IYCA Summit, but without the assistance of these tickets I simply do not have the resources. Please consider me for candidacy.
Hi Brain,
This is personal for me . My son was cut from his jv football team simply because he did not have the skills of playing organized football . I believe every youth should be coached not cut from the team for not yet having certain athletic skills . I would like to be there(IYCA SEMINAR) live so that i may help my son and others who deserve a chance .
Thanks
Brian,
I have the privilege being a high school football coach and a personal trainer. The high school for which I coach is also my Alma mater. Unfortunately, the school is located in one of the underprivileged areas of town. A majority of the kids come from single-parent families, many of which can barely afford to allow their children to simply play organized sports, much less the price of attending a sports specific facility. There is no monetary value comparable to the determination, dedication and hard work that the athletes at the high school and all kids of all ages and athletic ability put forth during training.
As a trainer, there is no greater satisfaction for me than to see the end result of what each of the kids has accomplished while training with me. Of course to be able to make a lucrative income would be great but what matters most is the satisfaction I get from training any youth that wants to better themselves in their respective sport and who wants to get to the next level of play whatever level that may be.
I believe that that IYCA Summit would not only broaden my education but also and more importantly, enhance my ability to help kids achieve their goal. Whether it be on a field, a court, a track or just to help them feel better about themselves by being in better physical shape and condition.
I have already signed up for the summit since I do not think that I will get the free tickets to go. There are many compelling stories here that i would not be able to touch. But, in the interest of saving a few dollars … who is looking to split a room at the Brown hotel for the 4 nights? Pre tax, group room rates are 115. Divide that by two over 4 days, that would be $230 for the 4 nights (plus tax). I will problably be running during the evenings and going to bed at a reasonable time. I am there to be alert during the conference and to share ideas with the other attendees. Not to party. Boring? Maybe. Dedicated? Always.

I just recently heard abou the IYCA and after research I had a good feeling about this program. Right now I’m a personal trainer and I’m moving to the athletic niche as I was once an athlete, playing football. I knew the idea of working with kids was a going to be a big business but $4 billion dollar industry is huge. The fitness industry is going in a dark place right now. Too many people only care about themselves, only about the dollar and not willing to learn new techniques to make them a better coach/trainer. I believe in making money but if a person can show they are doing good for a community and parents see that then they will trust you and only you. There are people in the industry that base their experience on the number of years they’ve been doing fitness. What difference does it make? There’s always new stuff to be learned and you can implement it into your own program. I’m a big proponent for learning new techniques and becoming progressive with my training style. Mix a bit of the old with some new and mixing it into a potent training style. The IYCA genuinely cares about helping the youth and I’m glad to become involved and eventually become certified. Thank you
Do you know that it is projected that by the year 2010 the number of kids which have Type 1 diabeties wil double? Take a minute and think about that. I think this organization is a great start in providing a solution for this. The better any one of us is at what we do the better chance their is for kids to stay involved in sports and activites to sustain a healthy lifestyle into adulthood.
Hi Brian,
When last we spoke I was asking about IYCA in Canada and you replied that there wasn’t anything here yet. I think what you have accomplished in such a short time is wonderful, unfortunately it is so far for me to travel and incur registration costs that I am appealing to you for aid in this regard.
A little about my background. At 14 I started coaching recreational gymnastics, I am now 42, and still coaching recreational gymnastics. I have also coached my sons rep soccer teams throughout the years. He’s now almost 15, so I have done more than my fair share of volunteer coaching in the community and enjoyed every minute of it but it would sure be nice to be remunerated in the future for my long standing dedication to youth in sports. I have my NCCP Level 2 in Womens Artistic Gymnastics and Community Youth Soccer. I also have coaching training in Sprint Canoe & Kayak and would like to start my own canoe and kayak club here in Muskoka.
As an architectural technologist who designs cottages and boathouses in Muskoka, a lucrative occupation, I always considered my part time coaching, community service. However, two years ago I fell down a set of stairs, hit my head and was knocked out cold. I still have not recovered fully from the trauma. I had to stop doing the achitectural drawings as it was just too much for my brain to handle and turned my focus to my coaching experience.
I took my Can Fit Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist and now teach group fitness classes to adults and children, I also have training and experience in teaching AquaFitness. I have had the pleasure of teaching group fitness and aquafitness to children and love it. I still coach recreational gymnastics and work on a climbing wall at our local community center. I am lucky to have about 30 hours of work a week in different capacities. The salary is a lot less than what I am used too but I take on everything I possibly can each week in the field of adult and youth fitness in my community.
I am confident that IYCA certification would give me the edge I need to become an independant contractor in the field of Youth Fitness and would very much appreciate your help in achieving this.
Sincerely,
Anna McConnach
Hi Brian – it has been great watching the iyca grow up. I have been in youth sports for 30 years now and your philosophies address the core of what I have always believed in working with and training young athletes. For the past 18 years I have taken my background and experiences and done what I can as a volunteer for training young athletes in adapted and wheelchair sports. This is a field where there is VERY little information on sport and/or fitness training, and I would like to visit with others in the iyca about adapting training information for special populations. I am the commissioner for the Junior Division of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association and volunteer my time helping professionals across the country provide sports training opportunities for students with disabilities and would love to use the information and networking from this Conference to help grow an educated group of volunteers and professionals working with this population. I think I could also maybe help educate your members about the growing market of young athletes with disabilities who could benefit from the work you are doing!
Why I’d like to have free tickets to the summit?
The reasoon why I’d like to attend the Summit for free and for Lee Taft to explain his class speed training concept to me for no charge is due to the following reasons:
As an athlete during my high school and collegiate years, I was expected to perform at a particular level as a sprinter and heptathlete, especially since I was on a full collegiate scholarship. I was advised I must sprint a certain way, hurdle from a particular distance, high jump using a particular method or form, and breathe a certain way during cross country training and conditioning. However, I was never informed why I must accomplish those tasks as I was commanded. So, my entire years of competing and being victorious, was based on how to train for competition and how to be a champion. When I graduated and began coaching, I, of course, passed on the same style of coaching – showing high school and collegiate athletes how to sprint, how to hurdle, what method to use for high jumping, and how to breathe during LSD training. One day, an athlete asked me why must she high jump using the technique I had shown her. My response, very quickly, was – “this is best for your height”. Again, she asked “why is it best for my height?”. My answer was – “this is a known fact from years past and I was informed that this was the best technique for people of our height”. She finally said, “oh”! After that conversation I began replaying it in my mind for several months.. I finally decided, I need to know, for myself, the “whys” to all of the “how’s”. I began doing research, studying more about the sport, and attending conferences and workshops. My desire is to be able to tell my athletes, on a high school level, and my clients, who I personally train, why a particular method works, or why they are expected to do a particular task a particular way. I believe Lee Taft’s training on “world-class” speed, will aid me in my continued research and studying on the “why’s” for every “how”. I pray that I will be selected for the free tickets so that I can learn from an expert, in this field, and be able to inform my athletes and clients of every necessary and intricate detail pertaing to their training. Too often, many coaches and trainers, who have been coaching and training for years, develop a “self-pride” in which they believe they have the answer for every question or delimma, or is too proud to ask or take advise from a known expert. I was somewhat in that boat, many years ago, but quickly learned how humility opens the door for agility in learning, developing, and training. I, now, look forward to hearing, with respect, the best spearkers in any given field. Thanks for this opportunity to share and I hope to see you at the summit.
Along with co-owning a small fitness studio with my husband, I am also a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. We have started to work with high school athletes at our studio and have given them an alternative to the huge “speed schools” in our area. Working with athletes is great and something I continue to want to learn more about. However, the group I am most passionate about working with our the “not so athletic” kids. The kids picked last for kickball. The kids who think they cannot compete in any sports because they feel they just aren’t good at anything. Maybe they’re even a little overweight. I want to help these kids realize that fitness is fun and that by making healthy decisions, they can feel good about themselves.
How do I attract these kids? I’ve tried networking with local pediatricians to see if they have any sedentary or even obese kids to recommend, but I haven’t had too much success. I would like to attend this conference and help get ideas to turn my passion into a successful program.
After 12 years of being a trainer, this organization has changed the approach of me and my company, which I believe will set a new standard in my state. We are in the worst place to raise a child, the 45th unhealthiest place to live, and still do not focus on our own community to change the perception for everyone to notice we have over 250,000 families that live here. I believe the lessons we will learn from the Summit, will assist us to encourage our parents, and present them with a company that has incorporated what families need to enhance our child’s lives from within the household and affect them throughout life not just for the moment.
I have been interested in sports since I was a kid. I have been around sports my entire life. Until recently I was teaching PE and health in the public school system but often found myself frustrated with lack of space and equipment as well as the attitude that PE wasn’t that important. I recently relocated to NYC and became a personal trainer. As I am transitioning with my career I am finding that funds are tight. I am passionate about fitness, athletics and kids and would love to have the opportunity to attend this conference in February. At the fitness facility I work at the owner has asked me to coordinate and develop a youth fitness program and I am very excited about this endeavor! I have purchased both the Youth Fitness Specialist and Complete Athlete Development packages form you and find the exercises and routines to be invaluable. I would like to take it a step further and attend this conference. I am an athlete myself, I have been playing women’s full contact tackle football for 10 years!!! I have also coached youth football and co-ed flag football. Please help me to reach my goals!!!! Thanks, Laura

Brian… I have been coaching youth baseball for 9 years. I have just recently learn about the IYCA and feel that it is a great tool that I can use in coaches young athletes. I am currently coaching at the 15U level and going to continue with this team through 18U at that point I will start back at the 9U level and work up with that team. I really enjoy working with the players and watching them advance from a young child to a young man. I feel this program will help me help the boys reach their goals in their baseball career. I have just received the Youth Fitness Specialist Level 1 training program and currently working through it. All of it is very interesting and I can’t wait to get back to it every night. I feel the Summit will only help me advance futher as a coach and be able to share this great information with the players. Thanks for the consideration and a great program. Scott
Well I met Brian, I think on his first ever teleseminar before he and the IYCA blew up the place. From the moment I heard him speack you could feel his passion for what he was doing and what he wanted to do and was great to see where he has taken the IYCA. I made a very bad business decision about a year and half ago, which has cost me a lot financially and caused a lot of money problems. Because of that I had to take a job that I absolutely hate in order to have a job and pay the bills to take care of my family. I have been working hard to try to get back to working with kids, but his job makes it really tough, but i am hoping the get things turned around for next year. I recently had to meet with a bankruptcy lawyer to discuss options and would hate to have to do that, because I just don’t want to feel like I have failed my family.
I had to borrow money from my mother to attend a recent event in Louisville, which was so hard to do, but I didn’t want to miss that event and was glad I didn’t. I just can’t make myself ask for money to attend another event, so would be great to receive Brians grascious offer. I know everyone on here probably deserves the chance to go to the event and I hope everyone gets that chance. Well enough about me.
Aloha Brian,
I was wondering if I would be able to get that discounted price on the 3 day summit. I tried to connect on that discounted link the other day and was unable to ge that discounted price. My wife and I just had our third child a few days ago and it has been very hectic at home and at the hospital. When I finally had a chance to get to the computer the link sent me to the full price 3 day summit. I am interested in attending the second annual youth summit and would be traveling all the way from Maui, Hawaii. Please let me know if it is possible to attend the summit at the discounted rate that is no longer available. I would really appreciate it and will need to get my flight and hotel arrangements done asap.
Thank You,

I have been in the industry for 28 years as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer and club owner. I am also a mother of six children ages 8-15. I am seeing first-hand how much the young kids and teenagers need coaches & trainers like the IYCA. It is the only organization I have found that truly cares about kids, knows how to train and motivate them and has the science to back it up. I want to make a difference in kids lives through awesome coaching, training and fitness. IYCA can help me do that.
